    Dissolved oxygen(DO)content is a key affective factor for the biological nitrogen removal by simuha-neous nitrification and denitrification.In this paper, a simultaneous oxic/anaerobic bioreactor(SOA)was used to treat the wastewater from a waste-compacting station.The variations of ammonia nitrogen(NH4+ -N),CODcr and to-tal nitrogen(TN)contents in the bioreactor with DO content were investigated.The results demonstrated that the removal efficiencies of NH4+ -N,CODcr and TN in the bioreactor were significantly afected by DO content.Two phases,namely,the fast phase and the slow phase of ammonia denitrification,can be observed at a DO content of 1.0 mg/L.Moreover,when the DO content dropped to about 0.5 mg/L,a balanced state of the aerobic area and the anoxic area in the SOA was achieved and an optimal simuhaneous nitrification and denitrification efficiency was achieved as well.It was estimated that anaerobic ammonium oxidation(ANAMMOX)took place in the bioreactor
    to contribute to the nitrogen removal.

    Two pilot composting experiments were carried out to investigate some parameters about the variation ofmetabolic enzymes and the degradation of phytotoxicity materials in the aerobic composting of animal waste,such as the composting temperature,the pH value,the germination index,as well as the activities of urease,cellulase,phosphatase and β-glucosidase.The results show that(1)the pH value in the composting is greater than that of raw composting materials,and sharply increases in the thermophilic phase,(2)the activities of urease,phosphatase and β-glucosidase increase rapidly at the initial stage of the composting,then begin to decrease and keep stable at the middle and final stages of the composting,(3)the activity of cellulase maintains a high level in the whole com-posting,and(4)the germination index gradually increases in the composting and finally keeps unchanged at the fi-nal stage of the composting.

    In order to control the production of acid mine drainage(AMD)on source,the weathering process of pyrrhotite in natural conditions was simulated in laboratory.The mechanism of AMD production and corresponding affecting factors were then determined.Experimental results show that FeSO4,Fe2(SO4)3 and FeO(OH)are the oxidation products of pyrhotite in air condition,that FeSO4,Fe2(SO4)3 and FeS2 are the main products of biologi.cal oxidation,and that the large amounts of Thiobacillus ferrooxidans existing in the tailings accelerates the weathe-ring of pyrhotite.

    The nano.intercalating technique and the simultaneous interpenetrating polymer network(IPN)method were used together to prepare the nanocomposite of Polyurethane(PU)/Poly(Methyl Methacrylate)(PMMA)/Organo.Montmorillonite(OMMT).The structures,morphologies and mechanical properties of the prepared nanocom-posite and the corresponding PU/PMMA-IPN system were then investigated by means of XRD,SEM ,TEM and me-chanical testing.The results show that a part of montmorillonites well disperse in the polymer matrix in the form of sheets(8 to 20 nm in thickness and 50 to 200 nm in length),forming an intercalated/exfoliated nanocomposite,that the mechanical properties of PU/PMMA/OMMT nanocomposite are obviously superior to the coresponding PU/PMMA.IPN system.and that there exist hydrogen bonds between the OMMT and PU or/and PMMA in the nano-composite,thus enhancing compatibility and the interactions among OMMT,PU and PMMA,and considerably im-proving the mechanical properties of the nanocomposite.The effects of preparation conditions,such as the mass ra-ti0 of PU to PMMA,the contents of OMMT,benzoyl peroxide(BPO)and ethyleneylycol dimethacrylate(EGDMA),and the 1,4-butylene diol(BDO)coeficient,on the mechanical properties of the nanocomposite were also investi-gated,concluding that when the mass ratio of PU to PMMA is 60/40,the contents of OMMT,BPO and EGDMA are respectively 5.0%,0.80%and 2.0%,and the BDO coefficient is 0.80,the nanocomposite can be prepared in
    optimal conditions.

    The Cu-doped Ce-Zr-O solid solution electrocatalyst for the solid oxide fuel cell f SOFC)with direct oxi-dation of methane at the anode was investigated by means of XRD,XPS,TPR,etc.The results indicate that the catalyst prepared by sol·gel method is of more ZrO2 tetragonal phase than that prepared by coprecipitation,the for. mer being of more stable copper embedded and highly dispersed in the lattice of Ce-Zr-O solid solution,and the catalyst prepared by impregnation being of less ZrO2 tetragonal phase and more CuO crystalline pattern,that the in.crease of Cu content results in the increase of O22-(or O-)concentration on the catalyst surface,and that the addi-tion of CeO2 significantly results in the increase of O22-(or O-)concentration on the catalyst surface.Moreover,good correlation is obtained between the above.mentioned details and the catalytic activity of Cu-doped Ce-Zr-Oso-lid solution for the complete oxidation of methan e.

    The phase diagram,phase morphology and mechanical properties of poly(2,6-dimethy-1,4-phenylene e.ther)(PPE)/epoxy resin(EP)system was studied by using optical microscope and SEM,etc.The results show that PPE/EP system exhibits an UCST(Upper Critical Solution Temperature) behavior and a miscibility increasing with the decrease of relative molecular mass of PPE,resulting in a considerable shift of the UCST fron 430K to
    366K,that the addition of TAIC to PPE/EP system greatly improves the solvent resistant of PPE,that the tensile strength of the cured materials increases with the increase of curing temperature and PPE content,while the tensile modulus approximately keeps constant,irrespective of curing temperature and system composition,and that the toughness of PPE/EP system increases with PPE content.

    Copper clad laminates(CCLs)with high performance based on modified polytetrafluoroethylene(PTFE) were prepared by using blended tetrafluoroethylene and hexafluoropopylene(FEP)as the modification resin.The compatibility of the two resins was then analyzed by means of DSC and SEM.Moreover,the efects of coupling agent,resin content and glass cloth content on the main properties of CCLs were investigated.Th e micro-structure of the cross-sections of CCLs based on the PTFE with or without modification were finally explored.Th e results show that there is excellent compatibility between PTFE and FEP,and that,after the modification by blending,the peeling strength of CCLs increases from 1.8 kN/m to 2.26 kN/m,and the flexural strength increases from 100 MPa to 134 MPa.while the dielectric dissipation factor decreases from 8×10-4 to 7×10-4

    A genetic algorithm-based algorithm is proposed for multiuser OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing)system to acquire the subcarrier and bit allocation that needs the least transmitting power.By adding some good-gene individuals to the initial population,the convergence speed of the genetic algorithm is greatly im-proved and the complexity of the algorithm is decreased.Simulated results show that,compared with static subcarri-er allocation schemes,namely,TDMA(Time Division Multiplexing Access)and FDMA(Frequency Division Mul-tiplexing Access),the proposed algorithm is of a considerable plus of 5~1 5 dB,which is greater than that obtained by any other dynamic allocation algorithms(1~2 dB).

    A new type of transfer structure long-span arch-transfer structure is presented.This structure consists of a concrete-filled steel tubular arch,several steel hanger rods and steel beams,and is characterized by having ex-cellent mechanical properties,making full use of the strength of materials and meeting the requirements of architec-tural functions.On the basis of the experiments of two specimens with an arch.transfer structure,the mechanical
    properties of the structure are then analyzed.It is found that the arch-transfer structure can be applied to the crea-tion of extremely long span an d big space owning to its excellent mechanical properties in load-carrying and stifness.As far as the mechanical characteristics of the component members of the structure are concemed,the arch is an axial compression&bending member whose whole section is subjected to compression stresses.the floor beams are axial tension&bending members subjected to both the horizontal force balancing the thrust force of arch and the floor loads.and the hanger rods are also axial tension&bending members subjected to the axial tension force in-creasing from the bottom to the top.

    The experiments of five scaled specimens with a novel interior slab-CFST (Concrete-Filled Steel Tubu-lar)column connection were carried out under low cyclic loading.The efects of different reinforcement arrange-ments on the failure mode,the anti-seismic behaviors including the hysteresis property and the ductility were then analyzed and evaluated.Test results show that the novel connection is of excellent performance under low cyclic loading,and that the construction form meets the anti-seismic design principles of strong column and weak slab.Moreover,reinforced stirrups in slab strips on the column can efectively improve the anti-seismic behavior of the connection,and,no matter whether the slab strips are reinforced with stirrups,the plastic deform ation capacity and anti-seismic behavior of the connection with flexural failure are all better than those of the connection with punching failure.

    In order to correctly describe and explain the sudden failure of a base in stability losing,the stability of the strip foundation on clay base is analyzed by using the theory of cusp-catastrophe model.The efects of the wea-kening function of clay,the base parameters,the ground overload and the second-order effect of displacement,etc.on the base stability and its catastrophe are discussed,with the catastrophe and failure conditions being finally pro-posed.Analytical results show that the catastrophe theory fairly well explains the objective phenomenon of sudden stability losing and the failure of a base,and that the ground overload,the soil density and the second-order efect of displacement are advantageous of the base stability

    In the calculation of uhimate axial compression ratio for irregularly-shaped columns,the grid method is usually applied to the cross-section integration.In order to overcome the dificulty in d division,this paper proposes a simplified calculation method of the uhimate axial compression ratio without the grid division of cross-see-tion.On the basis of plane assumption,a new and simple CroSS-section Gauss integration method is adopted to numerically analyze the ultimate ax ial compression ratio for reinforced concrete iregularly-shaped columns,with cotresponding software being finally programmed.It is found that the theoretical analysis results are in good agreement with the ones presented in literature,and that the P method is simple,accurate and needless to iterate.

    Field vibratory measurement analysis is necessary to the investigation into the vibration of roadside struc-tures caused by the impact compaction of existing cement concrete pavement.In this paper,the roadside vibratory impulse propagation and corresponding declining trend during the impact compaction are summarized based on the vibratory signals measured by the acceleration transducers set at the roadside.Diferent acceleration magnitudes with/without the isolafion trench between the vibrati0n source and the structures are also analyzed and compared.showing that the trench is helpful to the vibration isolation.Moreover,it is concluded that the safe range to prevent roadside structures from being afected by the impact compaction is 15 m far away from the compaction source.Thus,a guideline is provided for the practical impact compaction of existing cement concrete pavement.

    The dynamic characteristics of highway guardrails under impact loads are investigated by experiments and finite-element analyses.The results indicate that,with the increase of the impact displacement,the impact velocity decreases almost linearly.and the impact acceleration quickly declines to a minimum.Moreover,the energy-absorbing process is divided into two phases.and energy is absorbed much faster in the first phase.An optimized design of the gn ardrails is also carried out by considering the energy-absorbing feature and the initial impact force,concluding that the Thrie beam with the thickness of 1.3 mm and the span of 0.665 m is the opti-mal structure of all selected gn ardrails.

    Since both the structure and the operating parameters of a diesel engine change nonlinearly, the heatload and heat radiation area are directly influenced by the ratio of piston stroke to cylinder diameter(S/D).In thispaper,an optimized mathematical model is established for moderate-speed and high-speed diesel engines,with the minimal heat radiation area as the object function and the S/D value as the variable.In the condition of non1inear constraints,the proposed model is optimized by Sequential Quadratic Programming(SQP)on Matlab system.An illustrated analysis is finally performed by using Series 1 35 and Series 4102Q diesel engines as the objects,with the results according well with those in actual situations.
