Power-split Hybrid Electric Vehicle Acceleration Performance Optimization

Abstract: Acceleration performance is one of the important vehicle performance indicators. To solve the optimization problem of acceleration performance, dynamic programming problem is established by transforming the full-load acceleration progress to Multi-level decision-making process according to vehicle speed. Models for the novel power-split hybrid vehicle were established and the globally optimized control strategy was obtained on Matlab platform. Dual-motor torque figure was established while motor speed ratio and battery power band were defined to analyze the control strategy. The vehicle test result of optimization for power performance showed, 0ne-hundred-kilometers acceleration time was decreased by 15.7 percent. The control strategy based on dynamic programming significantly improves the vehicle acceleration performance.
