Abstract: Antibiotic susceptibilities of four marine pathogenic Vibrios were investigated. The results demonstrate that Vibrio anguillarum was highly sensitive to chloramphenicol and genamicinbut resistant to other stu-died antibiotics. Vibrio parahaemolyticus showed resistance to tetracyclinekanamycin and penicillinbut was sensitive to chloramphenicolcephalothingenamicinErythromycinand streptomycin.Vibrio fluvialis showed resistance to tetracycline and streptomycinbut was sensitive to chloramphenicolkanamycincephalothingenamicinpenicillinand Erythromycin.Vibrio alginolyticus showed resistance only to tetracyclinebut was sensitive to other7antibiotics tested in this study. The minimum-bacteriostat mass concentrations of several antibiotics to which these four Vibrios displayed resistances were determined.
Key words: marine pathogenic Vibrio, antibiotic, susceptibility, minimum-bacteriostat mass concentration
