Abstract:

Rubber-like material is a typical kind of hyperelastic material with good elasticity and stretching capaci-ty.It displays stress-strain hardening or softening when subjected to large strain. The constructive law of rubber-like material iS complicated and few experimental researches have been carried out on it.The hardening phenome-non of rubber-like material is experimentally and theoretically investigated in this paper, and a new strain-energy function is put forward to describe the constitutive law of the material. The corresponding constitutive parameters of the material are then measured and verified by experiments. The results indicate that the proposed strain·energy function accord well with the hardening phenomenon of rubber-like material and can be used as a theoretical basis for the investigation into the constitutive law of hardening material.
