Abstract:

The basic principle of the two-membrane theory as the mass transfer theory in absorption process was briefly stated. The principle was then used to investigate the absorption characteristics of SO 2 and NO x in the process of simultaneous desulfurization and denitrification from flue gas using urea/additive solution. The experimental results show that‚in urea/additive solution‚the absorption process of SO 2 in flue gas going with quick irreversible chemical reactions is controlled by the gas membrane‚while that of NO x going with slow irreversible chemical reactions is controlled by both the gas membrane and the liquid membrane.
