Abstract: A method of applying uniform design to genetic algorithm for producing the initial population is introducedin this paper．The paper also indicated that because the crossover of GA depended on the initial population of GA‚the diversity of the initial population is very important to the convergence of GA．Using the validating method that brought forward by De Jong ‚the paper validated that the method of applying uniform design to genetic algorithm could boost up the convergence of GA．
