Stiffness Performance of Truss-String Structure of Guangzhou

Abstract

Abstract: The application of pipe-truss string structure in Guangzhou international covention and exhibition center was introducedand the change of mechanical properties of cold or heat-bent steel pipes was studied．A series of experiments for bent steel pipes and their mechanical properties were conducted． Through the testing results of36sets of specimensa fitting formula was presentedby which was applied to investigate the vertical stiffness of this kind of structure．The calculated value of the suggested method is in agreement with the results of experimentswhich indicates the stiffness degradation of cold-bent steel pipes．As a resultthe overall stiffness of this kind of structure is also degraded．
