Stiffness Performance of Truss-String Structure of Guangzhou International Convention and Exhibition Center

Abstract: The application of pipe-truss string structure in Guangzhou international covention and exhibition center was introduced‚and the change of mechanical properties of cold or heat-bent steel pipes was studied.A series of experiments for bent steel pipes and their mechanical properties were conducted. Through the testing results of36sets of specimens‚a fitting formula was presented‚by which was applied to investigate the vertical stiffness of this kind of structure.The calculated value of the suggested method is in agreement with the results of experiments‚which indicates the stiffness degradation of cold-bent steel pipes.As a result‚the overall stiffness of this kind of structure is also degraded.
