Abstract:

In order to scientifically and reasonably calculate the level of service ( LOS) for pedestrians at intersections, the quantitative reasoning method is combined with the discretization theory of class-related continuous attributes to explore the methods for establishing a semi-quantitative evaluation-index calculation model and a grading standard of LOS in fully-mixed and uncertain traffic environments. Then,by taking a signalized intersection in Beijing,China as an example, the establishment process of LOS evaluation system at the signalized intersection in mixed traffic situation is determined based on the proposed semi-quantitative method, and the corresponding semiquantitative model and grading standard of LOS evaluation indexes are obtained, which are proved simple and scientific in evaluating the LOS for pedestrians at intersections.
