Abstract:

As pointed out by the traditional Chinese medicine theory,Cantonese Herbal Tea ( CHT) is of various functions such as heat clearing and dampness removing. However, the corresponding action mechanism is hard to evaluate through traditional assessments due to its extremely complex components. In order to solve this problem, the NMR technology with stability and repeatability is employed to obtain the panoramic view of the fingerprints of the metabolites in the serum of rats, and a multivariate data analysis as well as an identification of discriminative biomarkers is carried out. It is found that long-term CHT intake modulates the metabolisms of fats, carbohydrates and energy in rats in a stage form. This study provides an approach to the deep analysis of action mechanism of CHT and to the construction of a scientific evaluation system of CHT.
