Abstract:

The electromagnetic continuously-variable transmission (EMCVT) system is a system that works as a continuously variable transmission and possesses the functions of the clutch and the starter motor of a vehicle. In this paper , the structure and operation principle of the EMCVT system are discussed , and some of its models inclu-ding the power-flow mathematical model are then constructed. By analyzing the established model , it is shown that the EMCVT system can enable the engine to work on an optimal fuel-economy point , with a higher efficiency than the conventional cascade system. The feasibility of the EMCVT system is finally verified by the Matlab/Simulink simulation of a vehicle.
