Preparation of Zirconia-Doped Titania Nanopowders by Co-Precipitation Method and Corresp0nding Phase Transformation

Abstract:

In order to reveal the promotion or restraint of phase transformation caused by the doping of ions,nano-sized TiO2 doped with Zr4+ was prepared by means of co-precipitation method,respectively with the Zr mole frae-tions of 0,2% ,5% ,7% ,10% and 13% .The influence of Zr4+ doping on the phase transform ation of TiO2, fronano-sized anatase to rutile was then investigated. TEM results indicate that the prepared TiO2 anatase is 1 0 to 20 nm in diameter.XRD results show that the Zr4+ doping restrains the growth of anatase ertstallites,improves the start temperature of phase transform ation from 750℃ to 850℃ .Moreover,in order to avoid the form ation of ZrTiO4 from the reaction of Zr and TiO2,the mole fraction of doped Zr4+should be less than 10% .
