Abstract:

Road identification is very important to the correct implementation of automotive ABS(Anti-lock Brake System). The real-time recognition of adhesion coeficient for the road attached by each tire helps to adjust the bra-king force instantaneously, improve the using rate of the adhesion as well as the braking eficiency, and make the automotive ABS control more rational. In this paper,by using the equivalent pressure function of the wheel cylinder
during the ABS braking process, the slip coeficient of each tire is deduced by the time-depended pressure of the storage cylinder and the logic signal of the pressure control valve of the wheel cylinder and also with the angle acce-leration of wheel, brakeforce. As a result, the adhesion coefficient of each tire is obtained to identify the road condi-tion.The feasibility of the proposed method is finally verified by road tests.
