Abstract:

A new method is proposed to bulge the stainless steel lining in the high-pressure reactor. In the proposed method, the water pressure test and the lining bulge are combined together to obtain a plastic deformation of the li-ning,thus completely or partially eliminating the original gap between the lining and the shell. The effect of the compound figuration is then evaluated by measuring the shell stress, the layer gap and the lining circumferential strain during the hydraulic bulge. The results show that, although the original gap between the layers is not uniform and can even be more than 14~16mm at some points.the remnant gap can be controlled at 0.6~0.9mm after the hydraulic bulge, and that the lining and the shell almost haye the same deformation when the inner pressure is more than 3.1 MPa.with a linearity coeficient between the cylinder stress and the inner pressure being more than 0.99.
