Direct Interpolation Algorithm for Projective Curve on Param etric Surface

Abstract:

The machining of sculptured surface by the traditional method may cause many problems because the exi-sting CNC(Computerized Numerical Control)system,which possesses weak control capability,depends too much on automatic programming.In order to solve these problems,a direct interpolation algorithm for the projective curve on parametric surface is proposed in this paper.It can directly carry out the interp olation of tool paths in local surface with improved control capability of CNC system.Moreover,an example of local machining is presented to veri-fy the proposed algorithm .Simulated results show that the proposed algorithm is simple,feasible and effective,and that it can be applied to the machining of the whole surface.
