Theory and Programming of Form-Finding via Force Density Method for M embrane Structures with T-Elements

Abstract:

The concept of T-element iS applied to the force density method.Th e equilibrium equation of the force density method with T-elements iS presented.Then,the force density matrixes of the membrane elements and the T-elements on cable edges are deduced,and the corresponding form·finding program is designed.Thus,the problem of saw.liked edge cab les in the form .finding of combined membrane structures can be solved.Th e feasibilitv of the proposed method and the correctness of the proposed program are finally verified by examples.
