Cascade Flow W ithin Guiding Device of Francis Turbine

Abstract:

This paper expounds using the Computational Fluid Dynamics(CFD)method to study the variations of perform an ce of cascade flow within the guiding device of francis turbine.Th e variations of the flow field,the pres-sure field,the energy field and the energy loss in multi-operating conditions are investigated.It is found that the computational result accords with the experimental results.This research shows that the variations of flow field with-in cascade directly affects the runner inflow conditions and the stability of turbine operation.Th e numerical analy-zing results lay a technical basis f0r the optimum design and the stable operation of turbines.
