Analyses of the M oment-Curvature Relationship of RC Columns Strengthened with Carbon Fiber Sheets

Abstract:

A computer program was developed to analyze the moment-curvature relationship of RC columns strengthened with carbon fiber sheets(CFSs).By using the proposed program,the effects of various parametersthe characteristic value corresponding to carbon fiber sheets,the axial compression ratio,the sectional dimension,the characteristic value coresponding to transverse reinforcement,the longitudinal reinforcement rate and the con-crete strength- on the moment-curvature relationship were analyzed in different operation conditions.On the basis of the analytical results.methods to determine the nondimensional characteristic parameters in a trilinear model de-scribing the sectional moment-curvature relationship of the RC columns were then proposed.The results show that the regression formulas for the characteristic parameters in the proposed trilinear model are of excellent precision.
