Abstract: Through interpreting a series of Meier’s representative works of the 1990’s‚this paper analyzes the social background‚against which changes in Meier’s designing concept have taken place．It also discusses how Meirer has responded to the enviromental changes by malling use of varions design methods and technologies．Meier’s rational design concept and methods are also fully investigated．It is hoped that the paper will give Chinese architects some insight．
