Abstract: A new method of electrochemical extraction of oxygen from air was studied in this paper. The extraction system consists of undivided cells with a nickel anode, a carbon-polyterfluoroethylene air-fed cathode and KOH solution as electrolyte. The concentrations of ions in electrolyte were measured by normal analysis method, and the content of oxygen in electrolysis gas was measured by gas chromatography. The experimental results show that the energy consumption to extract 1 kg oxygen is 1. 56~1. 86kW·h.The volume fractiom of oxygen in electrolysis gas is99.8% above. The cells reaction mainly is that OH- and HO2- ions are electrogenerated at cathode and are also anodically decomposed to release oxygen at anode.
