Abstract: Thermomonospora fusca was chosen as an original strain for screening high yield cellulase mutants.Spora suspension of the organism was treatment with UV for60s and80s alternately.A high cellulase-producing mutant strain PE-211was obtained by screening using the methods of transparent zone and shaking culture. The activity of mutant strains PE-211was enhanced for more than one time comparing with that of the original strain. The CMCase-producing conditions of PE-211were studied too.

Key words:  Thermomonospora fusca, mutation, cellulase
