Microstructure and Chemical Component Analysis of Hypnea

Abstract: The microstructure and chemical component of Hypnea were studied.The result shows as follows: the Hypnea thallus is made of cortex cell and marrow cell‚and its cell wall is consisted of middle lamella‚primary cell wall and second cell wall.As cells linkage material‚carrageenan polysaccharides locates in middle lamella between the primary cell walls with a amorphous status.The main component of Hypnea is carbohydrates.The content of carbohydrates in Hypnea from Yangjiang and Hainan is5% lower than that in Encheuma;but the cellulose content in Hypnea from Yangjiang is the highest and that in Encheuma is the lowest.
