Vertical circular cylinders or group cylinders are widely used in coastal and ocean engineering, which
are typical ocean engineering structures. In this paper,on the basis of the linear water wave diffraction theory and the Biot wave-induced seepage consolidation theory, the analytical solutions to the seepage pressure distribution, which is induced by the diffracted water waves from the porous multiple vertical circular cylinders resting on the permeable elastic seabed, are derived by means of the eigenfunction expansion method. Then, the wave-induced seepage uplift force and overturning moment, which act on the bottoms of a pair of vertical cylinders, are accordingly evaluated and compared with the direct diffracted wave force and moment. The results show that (1) the porosity of the lateral surface of circular cylinders brings about significant reduction in the horizontal wave force and moment, and also leads to a certain reduction in the seepage pressure-induced seepage overturning moment on the bottoms of a pair of circular cylinders; (2) the variations of both the ocean wave condition and the structure geometry
condition influence the wave-induced seepage loads to some extent,in which the influences on the seepage moment are more significant; and (3) under certain conditions, the wave-induced seepage loads have the same order of magnitude as the direct wave loads does. In addition,in comparison with compact cylinders, the porosity of a pair of circular cylinders causes the variation trends of wave-induced seepage loads on two cylinders to be more similar.
