Abstract:

In this paper, the effects of the oxygen delignification of southern pine Kraft pulp on the oxalate formation were investigated, and the relationship between the oxalate formation and the Kappa number was also discussed. Then, according to this relationship,a mathematical model was constructed to predict the oxalate content during the oxygen delignification. The results show that the oxalate content gradually increases during the oxygen delignification and increases with the temperature and the alkali dosage, while the oxalate formation is not affected by the oxygen pressure, and that, for the proposed model, the linear correlation coefficient between the predicted value and the measured one is 0. 969,which means that the prediction accuracy is higher,so it can be used to predict the oxalate content in the oxygen delignification effluent of a given pulp.
