Abstract:

In this paper,on the basis of the eternal periodicity and the infinite derivative continuity of sinusoidal waveform and by considering the fact that lower welding energy is required in welding light material aluminum alloy, simplified formulas were deduced to describe the sinusoidal swing parameters in the aluminum welding with sinusoid-modulated pulsed MIG welding. Then, some experiments were carried out to validate the correctness and practicality of the formulas, and ideal fish-scale welding seams are easily and stably formed in the welding process. Experimental results indicate, when κ is in the duration of [15. 0%,23. 1%],the sinusoid-modulated pulsed MIG welding is of wide parameter matching range, low parameter requirement, large stable working region and low sensitivity to external interferences. Thus,it is concluded that the proposed formulas provide theory and test foundation for the optimization and matching of parameters in the aluminum welding with pulsed MIG welding.
