Abstract:

By taking the Sanchaji Xiangjiang bridge as is established based on the seismic dynamic equation the research object, a spatial nonlinear finite element model of bridge. The proposed model is then used to analyze the effects of the parameters and location of viscous damper on the mitigation to seismic response of self-anchored suspension bridge. The results indicate that the longitudinal displacements of the girder and the pylon top as well as the longitudinal moment of the pylon bottom are quite great under the action of earthquake, that appropriate damper parameters help to effectively reduce the displacement and internal force of the bridge, that the installation position of the damper greatly affects the seismic response, and that the variations of internal force and displacement in different control sections should be fully considered in the installation of viscous dampers.

Key words: self-anchored suspension bridge, viscous damper, seismic response control
