Abstract: Based on the micro-characteristics of fibers and the penetration test of fibrous asphalt gelas well as the low-temperature bending-creeping test of fiber -reinforced asphalt mixtures with3kinds of proportionsthe effects of fiber addition and proportion on the low-temperature ant- i cracking performance of the mixture were analyzed.The mechanism of performance improvement resulting from fiber addition was then investigated by means of the compound-material theory.The results reveal that the addition of fibers can evidently improve the low-temperature ant- i cracking performance of the fiber -reinforced asphalt mixtureand that polyester fiber has the most remarkable effect on the per-formance improvement.
