Effects of Assembly Errors on Transmission Precision of Space Curve Meshing Wheel

Abstract:

In order to improve the transmission precision of space curve meshing wheel ( SCMW) ,the effect of assembly error is investigated. In the investigation,first,the surface equations of SCMW are obtained based on the transmission theory of orthogonal SCMW. Then,based on the tooth contact analysis ( TCA) ,the parameters of the actual contact curve in the presence of assembly errors,as well as the transmission errors and the actual contact ratio,are obtained. Finally,the effects of assembly errors on the transmission error and the contact ratio are analyzed via numerical simulation. The results indicate that the angular assembly error around the Yo axis and the displacement assembly error in the Xo direction are two main factors affecting the transmission error. This investigation provides theoretical references and specific methods for the control and reduction of the adverse impact of assembly errors on the transmission error and the contact ratio.
