Preparation of Flame Retardant P0lypr0pylene Using Epoxy/OM M T Nanocomposite

Abstract:

Flame retardant polypropylene(PP)was prepared with ep0xy/0rgan0phi1ic montorillonite(Epoxy/OM-MT)nanocomposite and triphenyl phosphate(TPP)mixture as the flame-retardant agents.The effects of the sort ofepoxy ,the mass ratio of OMMT to epoxy and the contents of Epoxy/OMMT and TPP on the properties of PP were then investigated.The structure of the production was finally characterized by XRD.The results show that there is a good synergistic flame-retardant effect of((NER)/OMMT)and TPP on PP,and that,when the mass ratio of OMMT to NER is 5:100 and the mass fractions of NER/OMMT and TPP are respectively 13.33%and 6.67% .the oxygen index of the prepared flame retardant PP reaches 36.5% .
