Abstract:

In order to investigate the inhibiting mechanism of sodium dithiocarbamate(DTC)to the corrosion of mild steelin sulfuric acid.a series of dithiocarbamate corosion inhibitors were synthesized by using amine and CS,as the reactants and were then characterized bv IR spectra. Moreover, the inhibition effect of DTC to mild steel in sulfuric acid was investigated by means of the weight lOSS and the electrochemical methods. The resuhs indicate that DTC can obviously inhibit the corosion of mild steelin 0.5 no1/L H2SO4 dsolution.with the inhibition eficiency in.creasing with the concentration of DTC.It is also indicated that DTC behaves as a mixed.type corrosion inhibitor whose inhibition eficiency is significantly influenced by the various substituting groups on nitrogen atoms.
