Abstract:

Aiming at the nonlinearity,time-variability and uncertainty of the milling process,a scheme of the adap-five fuzzy control for the milling process based on the fieldbus is presented by considering the characteristics of fuzzy control and Profibus.A fuzzy controller with self-tuning output scaling factor and control rule is then designed and applied to the on.line control of the milling force with variable cutting parameters.Simulated results show that the
proposed scheme solves the problems existing in the conventional fuzzy control, namely, slow response and weak ro-bustness,and is of quicker response, better real-time feasibility and stability. It can adaptively aajust the feedrate online tiU achieving a constan t milling force approaching the reference force in varied cutting conditions.thus im-proving the machining eficiency and protecting the tool.
