Design Knowledge Modeling Based on Ontology

Abstract:

This paper investigates the knowledge modeling for the purpose of supporting the management and reuse of design knowledge,focusing on the management of design knowledge.Then,a management framework of design knowledge is proposed,which consists of three parts:the acquisition of design knowledge from all kinds of know-ledge sources,the knowledge modeling and the design knowledge retrieval.A method for design knowledge mode-ling based on ontology is then studied,which includes the definition of the ontology ,the establishment of the design knowledge base and a multi-view strategy of design knowledge retrieval.Moreover,the advan tag es of the mod eling of design knowledge based on ontology are discussed.On this basis,a knowledge-management tool is developed to support the production design .
