Abstract: Ionic soil stabilizer (ISS)lime and cement were used to reinforce the silty sand in JishanGuangzhou.The compactibility variation and the strength variation of ISS strengthening soil were analyzed by the results of compaction test and unconfined compressive strength test with different proportions and enclosing material time periods.The analytical results indicate that the maximum dry density of ISS strengthening soil increases with the enclosing material time periodswhich causes the improvement of bearing capacitywhile the effect of the water content of strengthening soil on dry density varies with soil consolidation agent.The relation between the maximum dry density and the enclosing material time periodas well as that between the strength and the compaction degree of the strengthening soil was finally established.
