Numerical Simulation on Flow Behavior of Cooling Water in Oxygen Lance#br#

Abstract: The flow behavior of cooling water in the oxygen lance of a steelmaking company was simulated based on K-εturbulence model.The porosity coefficient method was introduced to treat the curved boundary.The results show that the existing lance tip is not effectively cooled because there exists a dead zone which results from the unreasonable structure of the baffle.The structure of the baffle was optimized by numerical simulation‚and the optimized baffle can make cooling water cool the lance tip effectively with high velocity.
