Structural Design and Intelligent Control of Flexible Conveying System for Smart Production Lines

Abstract:

Smart production lines require novel conveyor belts.In order to meet this requirement,a modular con- veyor belt is designed and implemented,and a negotiation-based intelligent control method is proposed.With the help of the designed modular conveyor belt,multiple types of conveying paths can be constructed,and processing devices,the conveyors and the smart work pieces can self-organize based on the negotiation to implement a flexibly and efficiently dynamic reconfiguration.Experimental results indicate that,the designed conveyor belt and the pro- posed intelligent control method can select processing devices and the paths according to the types work pieces.In addition,based on the above-mentioned technologies,smart production lines can simultaneously process multiple types of work pieces.
