Accelerated Load Testing of High-Temperature Performance of Long-Span MA Steel Bridge Deck Pavement

Abstract:

The mastic asphalt (MA) has a weak high-temperature performance.In the investigation,the high-tem-perature performance of two kinds of British-style MA steel bridge deck pavements to be used in Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge was tested under accelerated load by using MLS66.The results show that (1) the MA produced withGerman-style GA craft,namely GMA,is equivalent or even superior to that produced with the traditional British-style craft in terms of the high-temperature performance; and (2) GMA can solve the real production ergonomicsproblems of bridge deck pavements,and the MA performance can meet the British-style standard.
