Abstract:

In order to fast diagnose microwave filters and save the tuning time, a computer-aided tuning method based on the vector fitting (VF) and the aggressive space mapping (ASM) is presented. In this method, the equivalent circuit parameters of the filter are extracted by using the VF, and the tuning value of tuning screws is predicted through the ASM. Thus, the fast tuning of microwave filters is successfully implemented. The proposed method is then applied to a four-order cross-coupled filter and a six-order Chebyshev filter, with ideal responses being obtained respectively through only three or four iterations, which means that the proposed method is accurate and effective.
