Abstract

By analyzing the visual behavior and psychological perception of drivers under high-speed driving conditions, the sampling test of the viaduct section of freeway in the Pearl River Delta was implemented with the help of Car Camera Equidistant Automatic Shutter System. Then, the spatial interface enclosure and its distribution proportion of drivers' visual space were calculated and analyzed according to the photos continuously taken by an automatic control system. The results show that the visual-spatial environment of drivers is characterized mostly by open and empty features.Based on the above-mentioned details, some landscape improvement essentials for the empty space of elevated bridges are presented to avoid the adverse psychological perception for people driving on the viaduct.
