Abstract

In this study, the acute toxicological safety, prebiotic in vitro and functional characteristics in vivo of Bacillus coagulans 13002 were evaluated. The results show that Bacillus coagulans 13002 is non-toxic,which acutely oral for female and male KM mice, and that it possesses good tolerance to simulated gastrointestinal digestion fluid. Moreover,it is resistant to Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 12598 (G+) and Escherichia coli ATCC 25922 (G-),which can obviously destroy the microstructure. These results indicate that the combination of Bacillus coagulans 13002 with fructooligosaccharide has a certain recovery effect on cyclophosphamide-induced tissue damage in mice, which can increase blood cells, improve protein synthesis rate and glucose utilization, and remove excess cholesterol to maintain the health of mice.
