Abstract

A heterogeneous Fenton catalyst, namely Fe- Bent, was prepared from Na- Bent through cation exchangeand was characterized by means of scan electron microscopy and X- ray diffraction. Then, the catalyst was used forthe advanced treatment of papermaking- reconstituted tobacco slice wastewater, and a Box- Behnken mathematicalmodel describing the relationship between wastewater CODCr and affecting factors was then established via the re-sponse surface analysis, with the photo- catalytic treatment process being finally optimized. The results show that(1) under optimal conditions, that is,an initial pH value of 2.7,a H2O2 dosage of 0.2% and a catalyst dosage of1750mg/L,the CODCr is as low as 60.44mg/L; (2) only a small amount of Fe ions leach from Fe- Bent during thereaction; and (3) the prepared catalyst can be easily recovered and reused.
