Abstract:

Proposed in this paper is a dual-PWM frequency-variable speed regulation scheme based on direct power control, which is used to achieve the four-quadrant operation of the motor, eliminate the harmonic pollution at the grid side and improve the dynamic response of the motor. The scheme is then modeled and simulated in Matlab/Simulink environment. The results indicate that the proposed scheme based on direct power control is superior to that based on direct current control in terms of control simplicity, dynamic and transient response as well as distur-bance rejection ability.

Key words: dual pulse width modulation, PI adjustment, direct power control, four-quadrant operation, induction motor, simulation
