Abstract: Tellurite glasses of0.7TeO 2 -0.2ZnO-xR 2 O-(0.1-x)R′2 O with various mole ratios of Li 2 O to Na 2 O‚Li 2 O to K 2 O and Na 2 O to K 2 O were prepared.With the measurement of vitrification point T g and crystalliza-tion temperature T x by DSC‚the effect of the mixed alkali on the thermal stability of tellurite glasses were investigat -ed.The results indicate that the glass system is of excellent thermal stability when the mole ratios of Li 2 O to Na 2 O‚Li 2 O to K 2 O and Na 2 O to K 2 O are respectively14∶‚23∶and14∶‚and that the0.7TeO 2 -0.2ZnO-xLi 2 O-(0.1-x)K 2 O glass system is generally more thermally stable than the0.7TeO 2 -0.2ZnO-xLi 2 O-(0.1-x)Na 2 O systemwhile more unstable than the0.7TeO 2 -0.2ZnO-xNa 2 O-(0.1-x)K 2 O system.
