基于块的分布式视频编码边信息生成技术

摘要: 为了提高分布式视频编码中由运动补偿帧内插技术生成的边信息的质量,提出一种基于块的边信息生成方案.首先在编码端进行模式决策,将WZ帧中的宏块分为WZ模式和帧内/WZ模式;然后对WZ模式的宏块采用运动补偿帧内插技术生成边信息,而对于帧内/WZ模式宏块,编码端先将低质量的帧内块传送到译码端,再通过运动补偿质量增强技术来辅助生成质量更高的边信息.实验结果表明,对于运动剧烈的视频序列和较长图像组长度,文中方案能显著提高边信息质量,并使率失真性能提高2.10 dB.

Abstract:

In order to improve the quality of side information(SI) generated by the motion-compensated temporal interpolation(MCTI) during distributed video coding(DVC),a scheme to generate SI at the block level is proposed.In this scheme,a mode decision is made at the encoder side,and the macro-blocks in the WZ frame are classified into two modes,namely WZ mode and intra/WZ mode.For the blocks in WZ mode,SI is generated via the MCTI,while for those in intra/WZ mode,high-quality SI is generated by means of motion-compensated quality enhancement(MCQE) after transmitting low-quality intra blocks from the encoder to the decoder.Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed scheme greatly improves the SI quality and achieves an improvement of RD performance up to 2.10dB,especially for strong-motion video sequences and longer length of groups of pictures.
