Nano-Sized SiO2-Coated Aluminum Pigments Prepared by Sol-Gel Method

摘要: 铝颜料是重要的金属颜料之一,当其用于水性涂料时,易被腐蚀而逐渐失去金属光泽,为了提高铝颜料的耐碱性,在乙醇/水体系中,采用溶胶-凝胶法制备了纳米SiO2也覆的铝颜料,利用SEM , XRD 和FTIR 分析手段对其进行了表征,并考察了其耐碱性.结果表明:当体系原料H2O/NH3/TEOS 的摩尔比为32.7:4.4: 1 时, SiO2 可以在铝颜料表面形成致密的保护膜;铝颜料经SiO2 包覆处理后,其耐碱性大大提高,在pH =11 的溶液中放置60 天后,没有任何H2产生,表明经SiO2 包覆处服的铝颜料具有优异的耐碱性.

Abstract:

In order to improve the alkali resistance , nano-sized SiO2 -coated aluminum pigments were prepared by means of sol-gel method in ethanoVwater medium and were characterized by means of SEM, XRD and Ff-IR. The alkali resistance of the product was then investigated in alkaline medium. The results show that, at a H2O: NH3 : TEOS molar ratio of 32. 7: 4. 4: 1 , the compact nano-sized SiO2 fi1ms form on the surface of aluminum pigments , thus greatly improving the alkali resistance of the pigments. The excellent alkali resistance of the coated pigments is also verified by dipping it in an alkaline medium with a pH value of 11 for 60 days , without any hydrogen being evolved.
